MAKE A TO-DO LIST FOR MONDAY AT THE END OF FRIDAY
This time, to start we’re going a little bit into the past, what is absolutely against all these famous ideologies of not looking back, but it will save you from panic on a Monday morning. Friday, the end of a typical week in work. You’ve just turned the computer down, made this meaningful exhaust of liberty and started thinking about where do they serve the best margaritas in town. Sit on your chair for 5 more minutes. Your head is still full of what has been happening during the day and it will be much easier to recall important tasks for Monday now than after weekend. Just write it down, simply put on a small sticky note 5 top things from your to-do list. You’ll thank yourself in the Monday morning, being able to start working and get on a right track in a minute instead of digging into your memory for some hints, browning Facebook and feeling like a depressed loser. There’s also one more profit – it’s psychologically proved that by putting our thoughts in writing we set our mind free. We give it a signal: ‘OK, I’m taking it over bro’. And there’s no better thing than a free mind before starting a weekend!
LEAVE BEHIND YOURSELF A CLEAN HOUSE
If you don’t want to run a chaotic life – don’t let yourself make any exceptions. Leaving a house in a good condition is just a matter of one quarter. Don’t hit ‘snooze’ minute after minute, pull yourself together and prepare for what day may bring for you. Maybe it’s not like an everyday situation when you meet the love of your life, but you never know, so be prepared. A clean house is a place you come back eagerly and you don’t waste time after work for cleaning. And again, clean house = clean mind. Or at least, it helps to get you to this point in your life.
START WORK EARLY, EAT HEALTHY, DO SOME SQUATS
Although if you think that you’re everything but sport person, try to make a small change in the way you start a whole weekend. Some people practice yoga, some jog a distance of 10 miles, some go to a gym. If you’re among them – I hate you, but I admire your determination at the same time. Yeah, you can go now to the next point. Happy fit rest of your life! For all of us who are sleepy zombies at mornings, I can only recommend walk for a good start of the day. Step by step, your mind is lightening up, you breathe and catch the sun, so when arriving at the place you’re relaxed and ready for deep focus.
WHEN ENTERING A COWORKING, CHECK WHAT’S NEW ON A BOARD
Take a quick look and plan your week according to activities that take place in your coworking. Now it’s not another 5 days that you have to survive, it’s week full of meaningful events for your development and career. Time always run faster when you have some points to wait for. This is a massive advantage of coworking – you’re able to experience business talks, workshops, creative meetings just two meters from your desk.
ONE BIG GOAL FIRST, THEN THE REST
You’ve got your to-do list prepared on Friday. Make a use from it and achieve one big goal first. It will give you power for dealing with next tasks. On a productivity wave, it’s super easy to get shit done without wasting time and concentration. Monday can really be overwhelming, so divide your awaiting emails into groups of different priority levels and then deal with them partially.
YOU SHOULD BE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT PROJECT
My favorite tip is all about… pleasure 😉 Work out your own personal habit on Monday morning. The cutest or on the other hand – dumbest it will be, the better. Call your grandma, record ridiculously snapchat video with your coworking mates, drink a huge cup of Nutella-banana smoothie, whatever. Just act like a child, award yourself for getting up from the bed and encourage others to smile with you. You can really cheer yourself up by doing it.
And remember, if none of this will help, break the routine. Coworking is all about creative freedom, so nothing can stop you from making Monday a free day. Your life your rules, and what’s more – your coworking will follow.
